THE
DR FAD SHOW

The Dr Fad Show was
a children's TV show that encouraged creativity and inventiveness.
The show was a successful experiment in many ways. The intention
was to bring PBS quality children's programming to commercial
television, by introducing fun in a creative way. The concept
was conceived by producer Joanne Roberts, and extraordinary televison
talent from children's television, such as Jim Jinkins and Ted
May, joined the project. The legendary composer Joe Raposo wrote
the wacky theme song. Through the foresight of CBS executives
such as Eugene Lothary and Dolores Danska, the show succeeded
and aired on CBS, PBS, and in syndication around the country,
and in 25 foreign countries, from 1988 until 1994.
THE
MISSION
Today, with budget cuts
on all levels of education, from federal, state to local, there
is more than ever, a need to bring back creativity, inventiveness
and sciences back to the schools and the children. Science and
invention fairs and programs have disappeared at an alarming
rate from our school systems, the victim of budget cuts. Our
goal is to bring back some form of creative television programming
that will once again spark the creativity and inventiveness of
all children, and encourage a rebirth of science and creativity
at all schools.
